Curtain Rods and Window Hardware For Kids' Rooms

Window hardware serves both a functional and decorative purpose in a child's bedroom. Curtain rods and other hanging hardware hold up curtain panels that can bring more colour and style to the space. The rods, finials, rings and holdbacks themselves can also enhance the room's decor. At Pottery Barn Kids, our curtain hardware comes in a selection of finishes and designs to help you find the right fit, both in size and in appearance, for your child's bedroom window.

Chic and Durable Metal Curtain Rods

The curtain rod is the most important piece of curtain-hanging hardware. Depending on your window size or personal preferences, you'll want to install it on the wall, on the trim or inside of the frame. Our curtain rods are available in three sizes to accommodate any bedroom window: small (71-122 cm), medium (122-224 cm) and large (152-274 cm). Make sure to measure your window to select the proper size. Each curtain rod measures 2 cm in diameter and projects about 9 cm out from the wall. It also comes with brackets for hanging. Our beautiful finish options include white, nickel, black and brushed gold.

You can also create a layered window look by installing a second telescoping back curtain rod behind the first. Pick up a Double Add-On Kit and follow the easy instructions for hanging it up. This 1 cm back rod is also available in three sizes to match your front rod. A layered window will give the room a warmer and more inviting look.

Decorative Finials in a Variety of Designs

The finials at both ends of the curtain rod not only keep the curtain panels in place, but they give it a finished look and a bit of extra flair. Our curtain hardware selection includes a variety of finial designs to help you find the perfect one for your child's bedroom.

  • Round Finial. Available in white, gold or brushed nickel, the classic round shape gives any window a sophisticated look.
  • Hexagon Faceted Finial. Add some visual intrigue to the window with charming aluminum hexagons finished in brushed nickel.
  • Endcap Finial. Clean and versatile, these simple endcaps let the window fabric shine.
  • Romantic Pearl Finial. Give your child's bedroom a whimsical touch with these shimmering glass pearls hand-painted in a mercury finish.
  • Clear Acrylic Finial. If you'd prefer a more modern look, opt for these cylindrical finials crafted of clear acrylic and finished with metal caps.
  • Glass Finial. An elegant glass orb sits at the end of these aluminum and hand-painted finials, giving it a tailored look.
  • Ornament Finial. Give your child's window hardware a touch of colour with these charming resin ornaments in a selection of rich jewel tones.

Rings and Holdbacks to Complete the Look

You can't hang curtains without the rings! Our round metal rings are crafted of durable steel and designed to work with the drapery hooks included in our buttonhole curtain panels. Each set includes 10 rings, which is enough to hang up one panel, so make sure you pick up two. At the same time, consider if you also want to install a pair of curtain holdbacks to keep the panels open during the day and allow more light into the room. Our holdbacks come in simple skinny or more ornate end cap designs to help you get just the right look.
